Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations linked to the the regime, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.

It said wreckage landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
