President Trump Invites Relatives of Attacked Guard Soldiers to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has asked the loved ones of a Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the White House.

He noted that he spoke to her family and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Incident

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their memory.

Presidential Call

The commander-in-chief said he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both members of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president informed the press. “And similarly with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Reaction

Community members came together over the weekend at a local school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the state guard as part of Trump’s government program to support law enforcement in the capital.

Remembering Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers desired. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a positive energy that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s previous school, told the Associated Press. “She was kind, caring and always willing to help others.”

Memorial details for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Legal Actions and Government Adjustments

Authorities have charged a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The tragedy caused the administration to halt refugee claims and temporarily stop providing entry permits to possessors of travel documents.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in early 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey stated on a news program.

Attorney general Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she also intended to speak to his relatives.

Impact of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a MP with honor, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had courage,” he told the gathering at the memorial. “Though her life was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to last forever.”
