19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in especial - led to him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time coach his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
It is his maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court after spring of 2023.
Victory also means Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at 21 different competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters together, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had caused some to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was concluded.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and play aggressively, supported by an better service.
He fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the final five games to take the lead.
The competitors traded service breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a third set.
Moutet defended four initial break points in a tight deciding set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent incapable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
