The UK is ready to advance with using the full worth of seized Russia's funds to bolster Ukraine's war effort, PM Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany asserted that this unified step would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge the Russian Federation to engage in negotiations.

They added that the initiative would be implemented in tight collaboration with the US.

UK penalties have blocked over £25bn of Russian funds since Moscow initiated its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. However, up to this point, money sent to the Ukrainian government using Russia's holdings had exclusively been taken from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany were united in their aim to drive progress toward utilizing the complete amount of the frozen Moscow's national holdings to halt hostilities.

He added that additional measures soon would heighten the tension on Russia.

This declaration follows EU leaders gathered in the Danish capital last week to discuss utilizing frozen Russian assets for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to Ukraine.
